Police stopped several speeding vehicles this weekend, including a driver who told a police officer that “I didn’t know my car could go so fast.”
The OPP’s road safety department said the vehicle was stopped on Highway 401 near Roseville Road, developing 181 km / h.
The driver was charged with stunt driving and negligent driving, his license was revoked for 30 days and the vehicle was detained.
The Waterloo Regional Police Office also said they stopped speeding cars this weekend.
A 21-year-old man from Kitchener was caught after passing a member of the Trafficking Force (TSU), who was driving at 153 km / h on Highway 85. The speed limit is 90 km / h.
