Teenagers fired paintballs at people outside the arena in Acton, Ont.

Two teenage boys are facing charges after several people were hit with paintballs in front of Acton Arena on Saturday night.

Halton Regional Police say they were called to the arena near Queen Street East and Tanners Drive at 9:30 p.m. Saturday to report that several people in a vehicle were shooting paintball.

The vehicle left the area after an initial volley of shots, but then returned and more were fired.

“Two victims were hit by paintballs, causing injuries,” investigators said Monday.

Police caught up with the vehicle and arrested two teenagers inside.

A 15-year-old man from Georgetown and a 16-year-old man from Halton Hills were charged with assault with weapons and dangerous weapons.

During the arrests, officers seized two paintball guns, “numerous paintball balls and other equipment for paintball guns.”

Both men were released with a promise to appear.

Neither can be identified under the provisions of the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act.
