Frank Lampard could be charged by the FA after being asked to explain comments about referee Stuart Atwell after the Merseyside derby.
Everton were outraged by Atwell’s decision not to award a penalty in the 53rd minute when Anthony Gordon fell after a clash with Liverpool defender Joel Matip.
They contacted the PGMOL judicial body to clarify why VAR Darren England did not look into the incident in more detail.

The club complained to the official council of the professional match against Stuart Atwell
Everton’s relations with PGMOL are unstable and they have not forgotten how they were refused to shoot on the spot against Manchester City in February, when Rodry managed in the area.
Lampard was boiling as he left Anfield on Sunday and told a news conference that “if Mo Salah is on the other side, you get a penalty. I played in teams in the upper half of the league, you know.
These comments were noted by the FA Disciplinary Committee and Lampard, whose country fell into the relegation zone, was asked to present his observations on the issue.
Both Everton and Liverpool were also warned about their future behavior, but avoided any accusations after a brawl when Toffees midfielder Abdullai Dukur was convicted of kicking Fabinho.
This happened after the game was allowed to continue, although Richardson was lying on the ground wounded.
