A man has died and a woman is in critical condition after being stabbed twice in Bury St Edmunds.
A 38-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police were called on Tuesday afternoon (April 26) on Tuesday afternoon (April 26) at 3:00 pm for stabbing Harland Court, near Station Hill.
Officers were immediately sent to the area and found the victims with stab wounds in an apartment.
A 40-year-old man died on the spot shortly afterwards, and a woman, also 40, is in hospital in critical but stable condition.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., a 38-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds was detained by police near St. John’s Street in connection with the incident and arrested on suspicion of murder.
He was taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Center for questioning.
Detectives are calling for witnesses to the attack and would like to hear from anyone who was near Harland Court between 2pm and 3pm.
