A man has been charged with the murder of Katie Kenyon, who was last seen getting into a van with a man five days ago in Lancashire.

The 33-year-old man from Paddyham was last seen boarding a silver Ford Transit van in Todmorden Road, Burnley, on Friday morning.

Andrew Burfield, 50, of Todmorden Road, Burnley, is due to appear in Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. Burfield was arrested for murder Tuesday.

More than 60 detectives from four police forces began searching a rural beauty site in Lancashire on Tuesday as part of their investigation.

The area of ​​interest is the largest wooded area in the county, measuring over 4.6 square miles and is popular with pedestrians and cyclists.

Lancashire police said: “Katie’s family has been informed and continues to be supported by specially trained staff.

“They expressed their gratitude for all the benevolent messages, but asked people to respect their privacy at this time.”
