Hailey Bieber described emergency medical care last month when she thought she had had a stroke and ended up in hospital, where doctors repaired a hole in her heart.
TMZ revealed the story … Hailey was rushed to hospital after suffering stroke-like symptoms and doctors found a small blood clot in her brain. It turned out to be a TIA – also known as a mini-stroke.
Now Hailey explains what happened. She said she felt a “strange sensation” in her right hand at home with Justin, and her fingertips went numb. Suddenly she couldn’t even speak.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance and certainly had symptoms of a stroke, including sagging on the right side of her face.
Numbness and speech returned quickly, but the doctors were clearly worried. It’s not clear what caused it, but Hailey had recently caught COVID with Justin, so that may be a factor. She says she has just changed her birth control without consulting her doctor.
She was diagnosed with something called PFO – a small hole in the heart. The 25-year-old underwent a procedure in which doctors inserted a small button-like object through his groin, which apparently worked.
Hailey says she takes blood thinners every day after the event to avoid future problems … she is grateful that her doctors were able to determine the cause and can now continue the entire trial.
