Jaguars pick Travan Walker first overall, Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis return to each other

Just 24 hours before the official launch of the NFL Draft for 2022, here is my annual 3-round NFL Mock Draft for 2022. With so much uncertainty, early elections will set the tone. Unlike previous years, this time I predicted two deals – both of which I heard were real opportunities.

The NFL Draft is just around the corner and time is running out to increase your knowledge of what your favorite team can do. Raise your level with PFN’s 2022 NFL Draft Guide before your team is on time to be the smartest fan in the room.

2022 3-round NFL Mock Draft

How could the first round of the NFL 2022 draft shake in Las Vegas? Let’s start with the Jacksonville Jaguars, which occupy a defensive end that is not from Michigan.

1) Jaguars Jacksonville: Travan Walker, Germany, Georgia

As early as March 25, we were the first to break the story that the Jaguars were considering choosing Travon Walker with their first draft pick. This story now becomes a reality when Trent Baalke gets his man.

2) Detroit Lions: Aiden Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

If Aiden Hutchinson is chosen first, Traven Walker will be chosen here.

3) Texas in Houston: Derek Stingley, CB, LSU

Another interesting battle. People believe that this choice could be Travan Walker if he falls for the Texans, but I keep hearing that Love Smith is lobbying for Derek Stingley Jr.

4) New York Jets: Ikem Ekwonu, OL, NC State

Ahmad Gardner makes the most sense in this place. Jermaine Johnson also needs to be considered. But the Jets are rumored to be in love with Ikem Ekwonu.

5) New York Giants: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

The Giants want the right grip, and Evan Neal could be just that.

6) Carolina Panthers: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi

I announced that this will be the choice more than a month ago. The big question is whether Charles Cross manages to get this far.

7) New York Giants (from CHI): Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

Kayvon Thibodeaux will also receive serious attention in this place, but Ahmad Gardner may be chosen.

8) Atlanta Falcons: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

The Falcons are in a position to choose the best player available, and Kayvon Thibodeaux plays the role, as well as a big hole in the Atlanta depth chart.

9) Philadelphia Eagles (Counterfeit Trade by SEA): Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

The ninth choice will be in play. New Orleans inquired whether to rise for this selection, but eventually the Eagles received the choice with all their draft capital. Philly handed out one of his players in the first round in 2023 for the right to choose Jameson Williams from Alabama.

10) New York Jets (from SEA): Gareth Wilson, WR, Ohio

The Jets will consider Jameson Williams at this point, and many in the league keep telling me that they will eventually move that choice to Deebo Samuel. However, if the deal doesn’t work out, Gareth Wilson may be their choice.

11) Washington Commanders: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

If Washington does not choose Kyle Hamilton for this position, he could fall far behind.

12) Minnesota Vikings: Trent McDuffie, CBC, Washington

Trent McDuffie is the player the Vikings want, although they may try to trade and still choose him.

13) Texas from Houston (from CLE): Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida

Trevor Penning would be a consideration, but Jermaine Johnson II made too much sense after passing the Jets.

14) Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

The Ravens need an internal line of defense, and no one in this project is approaching Jordan Davis.

15) Seattle Seahawks (PHI Counterfeiting): Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

Seattle could take Trevor Penning at number 9 if they don’t trade.

16) New Orleans Saints (from IND through PHI): Chris Olave, WR, Ohio

The Saints need a successor, and Chris Olav is perhaps the most underrated in this year’s draft.

17) Los Angeles Chargers: Drake London, WR, USC

Drake London will not have to go far to play his professional ball. Zayan Johnson or another offensive player in the interior will be considered at this location, as will Jordan Davis if available.

18) Philadelphia Eagles (from NO): Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

Devin Lloyd is the three-way linebacker the Eagles desperately need.

19) New Orleans Saints (from PHI): Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

The Saints would like to be exchanged, but without left-handers still on board, they are choosing their future quarterback at Kenny Pickett.

20) Pittsburgh Steelers: Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

The bigger surprise at this point will be that the Steelers will miss Malik Willis if he is available.

21) New England Patriots: Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College

Zion Johnson is a universal blocker of his hometown, which can start with a guard and become a center.

22) Green Bay Packers (from LV): Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Not many teams have a first-round score for Traylan Burks, but the Packers seem to love it. They could take Kenyon Green to this place and then go with Alec Pierce in the 2nd round.

23) Arizona Cardinals: Kenyon Green, OL, Texas A&M

Pass rusher is an option here and Logan Hall can be a surprising choice. Still, the Cardinals may choose to strengthen the offensive line with Kenyon Green.

24) Dallas Cowboys: George Carlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

Boye Mafe would be a consideration, but George Carlaftis is better suited to Dan Quinn’s system.

25) Buffalo Bills: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

Here the bills can go in many directions. Tyler Smith may be the surprise choice under number 25, but Kyler Gordon is also an option.

26) Tennessee Titans: Tyler Smith, OL, Tulsa

They could take Jahan Dotson in that position, but Tyler Smith meets the need for the offensive line and can play guard or right-handed.

27) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Daxton Hill, DB, Michigan

With Todd Bowles head coaching, the Bucs turn to the sidelines and choose Duxton Hill, a player they think could be in the corner or safe.

28) Seattle Seahawks (Counterfeit Trade from the UK): Desmond Reeder, QB, Cincinnati

I first announced on Saturday that the Seahawks will be swapped back at the end of Round 1 for the quarterback, and since then this belief has resonated more strongly in the league. To move up 10 places and select Desmond Reeder, Seattle dropped out of the 41st selection and the fourth round.

29) Kansas City Chiefs: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Jahan Dotson is a sophisticated pass hunter who brings speed to the bosses’ reception. Kansas City may be surprised to choose Jalen Pitre, whom they consider their future copper badger.

30) Kansas City Chiefs: Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

The bosses need it, and I documented Brett Witch’s attachment to Boy Mayf.

31) Cincinnati Bengals: Cairo Elam, CB, Florida

Tyler Linderbaum will be considered here, but Cairo Elam immediately improves the defender’s position in the corner.

32) Detroit Lions (from LAR): Lewis Cine, S, Georgia

Detroit can take a quarterback at this location to close the fifth-year option. However, if they don’t, Lewis Son may be their man.
