“Not for money for me”: Tyson Fury reiterates he wants to retire after White’s victory | Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury reiterated that he was retiring from boxing, stressing that “no amount of money” would tempt him to change his mind.

The 33-year-old undefeated WBC heavyweight champion has once again said he is happy with his fate and ready to put on his gloves, three days later, after beating British counterpart Dillian White by breaking into the sixth round in front of 94,000 Wembley audience.

Speaking to Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV, Fury said: “This is the truth, the truth about the gospel, nothing but the truth – I’m done. Every good dog has a day. As one great Roman leader said, there will always be someone else to fight with.

“When is enough?” I’m happy, I’m healthy, I still have a brain, I can still talk. I have a beautiful wife, I have six children. I have countless belts, I have a lot of money. I have success, glory, glory. What else am I doing it for?

“Boxing is a very dangerous sport, you can be taken out with one blow, as we saw on Saturday night, and all you need is one unfortunate blow and you may not get out of this lane. I give up while I’m ahead. I am undefeated, only the second person in history to retire from an undefeated heavyweight champion.

“I am very, very happy and very happy in my heart for what I did, what I achieved. It’s not about money for me. Many people in this world, it’s all about money, and more money and more money. I have enough money. I have enough of everything I need. I am a very simple person. I drive a VW Passat 07. I’m a very normal person, I don’t need tons of money to impress everyone. “

Fury, whose professional record shows 32 wins and one draw, with 23 wins by knockout, added: “It’s not worth it (continued). I have a family to raise. I have four young children to raise and two older ones. I have been absent for the last 10 years on the road, all over the world, traveling for boxing. When I have time to be a father or a husband, a brother, a son. I need this personal time.

“Fans will always want more, they always want more blood. But at the end of the day I have nothing more to give. I have given everything I have. I was a professional [for] 14 years, I have been boxing for over 20 years.

“It’s time for me to go high. I’ve always said that I want to give up the sport and do it on my own terms, and I didn’t want to be the person to say, “Well, maybe I should have retired two years ago” or whatever.

“I just wanted to get out on top, out with a bang. Nearly 100,000 at Wembley, with a knockout performance. They will not forget the gypsy king quickly and no material assets or money will make me retire because I am very happy. “

Fury said he had no interest in facing WBA, IBF and WBO champion Alexander Usik or Anthony Joshua, whose rematch is scheduled for this summer.

He also said after Saturday’s match that he did not rule out show fights or a return to World Wrestling Entertainment.

And when asked by Morgan on Wednesday what his big goal in life is now, Fury said: “My big goal in life now, Pierce, is to find a job with you, interview people and talk about what I think!”
