The suspect in the bloodbath in Bermonds is accused of four murders

The suspect, accused of stabbing to death three generations of the same family, including his girlfriend, was charged with four counts of murder today.

Joshua Jacques, 28, of Sly Green in south-east London, will appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Dolet Hill, 64, her husband, daughter and granddaughter were stabbed in her home near Millwall Football Stadium.

Jacques, the boyfriend of Mrs. Hill’s murdered granddaughter Samantha Drummond, 27, was arrested at the scene in the early hours of Monday.

Ms. Hill’s husband, Denton Burke, 58, and her daughter, Tanisha Drummond, a 45-year-old nurse, were also found dead at the Bermonds address.

Jacques was indicted Thursday morning after an investigation by homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Special Operations Command.

Dolet Hill and Denton Burke were killed in their three-bedroom home near Millwall Stadium

Tracy Henry, 47, who is Mrs. Hill’s surviving daughter, said: “We’re in pieces. We are too upset to say more and have a family reunion.

Ms. Drummond’s grieving husband, Danny Ofori-Akufo, said the suspect’s knife was struck by police after neighbors were warned by screams and raised an alarm.

He said his wife was there to take care of her mother after the operation and that 27-year-old Miss Drummond brought Jacques to the family home on Saturday to meet with everyone.

Mr Ofori-Akufo called his wife at 11.30pm on Sunday and she told him she had fallen asleep on the couch. “These are the last words I said to her. I still can’t believe it. It has not sunk, “he added.

Pastor Lloyd Henry of the Family New Testament Church of God in Dulich said Ms. Hill, a retired pharmacy assistant at St. Guy’s Hospital, joined a mission in Ghana in 2017. They were a wonderful, hard-working family. “They were always together, it was a joy to see such a close-knit family. They all go to church regularly and are very active in the community.

“Dolet always cooks for members of the congregation who need it, she always cooked fish for us on Easter and she was so generous. She joined us on a mission in Ghana in 2017 to build a clinic in the village of Tarkwa Banso, which was so far from any hospital and desperately needed a medical facility.

“Her granddaughter Samantha sang in the church choir with my daughter, who was the same age.”

Mr Burke’s sister, Juliet Hutchinson, said the family “did not deserve to die like that”.

The 62-year-old added: “My brother was a nice, quiet and innocent man. He was always joking and smiling.

Neighbors of Miss Drummond, a former NatWest worker, described her as “a beautiful, sociable young girl who would lean back to help anyone.”

Leanca Levy, 36, said: “I’m waiting for surgery and every time I waited for deliveries or shopping, Samantha brought my things for me. It was just a pleasure.
