Former Doctor Who and Eastanders star Anne Davis has died at the age of 87.
The actress, who was the wife of the late Richard Briars – who starred in The Good Life – and the mother of two daughters, died on Thursday, her agent confirmed.
Barry Langford tweeted: “Unfortunately, my wonderful 34-year-old client Ann Davis died yesterday.
“A superb actress with television roles, including #DoctorWho and #TheSculptress, Ann was devoted to her beloved late husband #RichardBriers and their daughters Lucy and Kate.
“She will be missed a lot. #RIP Ani. ‘
Davis starred in a series of episodes of Dr. Who in the 1960s, playing Jenny’s character with William Hartnell as Lord of Time, before continuing to play Mrs. Singleton’s teacher at Grange Hill in the 1990s.
The actress also appeared in dramas for BBC Doctors and Eastenders, and starred with her husband Richard in a number of television roles before his death in 2013.
The couple lived together in Chiswick, West London, after marrying in 1956 and have two daughters, Lucy and Katie.
Lucy, 54, plays Mrs. Blish in ITV’s Endeavor and starred as Mary Bennett in the BBC’s 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

Anne Richard’s husband was known to millions for his enduring role in the television sitcom The Good Life.
The star, who was also well known for her Shakespearean roles, battled serious lung disease for years before dying “peacefully” at her home in London in 2013.
The couple appeared together in the films “Peter’s Friends” in 1992 and “In the Dark of Winter” in 1995, as well as in a radio adaptation of the TV series “Brothers in Law”.
Mr. Briars was one of the most popular television sitcom actors of his generation.
He was the mainstay of three of the most remarkable sitcoms ever made in Britain – Marriage Lines, The Good Life and Growing Circles.
After leaving a meagerly qualified school in Surrey, Bryers flirted with the idea of electrical engineering as a career before realizing that what he really wanted to do was stomp on the boards, not connect them. He attended RADA from 1954 to 1956, after which he joined the Liverpool Repertory Company.
While at the Liverpool office, he met actress Ann Davis. Theirs would be that rare thing in the theatrical world – a long, stable and happy marriage.
After Richard’s death, Lady Sheila Hancock described them as a “wonderful couple.”
She said: “It’s really not easy in our profession, but they were a wonderful couple and we were very close with them.”
