76ers vs. Raptors: Philadelphia beat Toronto in Game 6 to end the series to meet Heat in the Eastern Semifinals

There will be no history this year. The Philadelphia 76ers set out for Game 6 and defeated the Toronto Raptors, 132-97, to take the series from the first round, 4-2, and avoid another setback in the playoffs. Now they will face to face the No. 1 Miami Heat in the second round.

After an equal and highly competitive first half, the Sixers shattered things in the middle of the third quarter with a 22-3 series that included a 4-minute legless run for the Raptors. The game was not competitive the rest of the way, as the Sixers came to victory with 35 points. Joel Embiid led with 33 points and 10 rebounds, while James Harden recorded 22 points and 15 assists in the kind of performance he had hoped for all along. The Sixers shot 58 percent of the field, and all five starters scored in double digits.

The Raptors fought a valiant battle in this series, but eventually ran out of gas against a more talented Sixers team. Fred VanVleet’s absence was noticeable, especially in the second half, when the Raptors struggled to score. Chris Boucher was one of the few bright spots, scoring a record-breaking 25 points in his playoff career.
