NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars select Travan Walker №1 overall

The Jacksonville Jaguars once again had the best choice in the draft, a year after they used the No. 1 selection to get quarterback Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson. Yet, unlike in previous years, when the best choices were predicted weeks or months in advance, there was little consensus on who would be chosen first this year.

The last non-quarterback to be taken first overall was during the 2017 NFL Draft, when the Cleveland Browns took on the defensive end of Texas A&M Miles Garrett.

The top five in this year’s draft were defensive players. According to scouts for ESPN and NFL Network, the strength of this year’s draft is believed to be in its set of offensive strikes, passes and wide receivers, while there are few quarterbacks who are considered worthy of choosing a high draft.

Defensive end of the University of Michigan Aiden Hutchinson was number 2 overall, heading to the Detroit Lions. The Texans from Houston chose number 3 and chose Derek Stingley Jr., a defender from the state of Louisiana.

The Jaguars aren’t the only team to have a big Thursday night. Due to a series of exchanges, eight teams had two choices in the first round, including the New York Giants, which selected the University of Oregon’s Defensive End, Caivon Thibodeau in the No. 5 selection, and the University of Alabama’s Evan Neal Offensive Game.

The New York Jets also had two choices in the first round with Cincinnati corner back Sos Gardner in 4th place and Ohio successor Gareth Wilson in 10th place.

Similarly, it will probably be a good night for fans of the eight teams without a choice in the first round, including the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

Round 1 of the draft will end late Thursday, followed by rounds 2 and 3 on Friday at 19:00 ET, followed by rounds 4 to 7 on Saturday at noon.

All seven rounds are broadcast on ESPN, garnering an average of between six and eight million viewers during the three-day event over the past three years.

Once a quiet event in the hotel’s conference room, the draft became the NFL’s off-season premiere event, both on television and in person, providing hope to NFL inferior food fans and making the best players’ dreams come true throughout their lives. college football and their families.

In addition, different cities took turns hosting the 2015 draft, bringing hundreds of thousands of fans to the city centers. Recent hosts include Dallas, Nashville and most recently Cleveland.

The move to the draft in Vegas – two years after the Raiders franchise moved there from Auckland – further illustrates the NFL’s rapid adoption of sports gambling. This year’s main stage will be on the Vegas Strip’s Linq Promenade, where NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will announce the selection of each team for the first round. In Sin City fashion, a red carpet has been built over the Bellagio Fountain for the 21 prospects to attend, and NFL officials said they expect shiny notes of Vegas during the event. Fans will also be treated to musical performances by Weezer on Thursday, Ice Cube on Friday and Marshmello on Saturday.
