A dangerous black sedan chase ended in southern Los Angeles on Thursday night after a driver led police through the LA area, making donuts and driving chaotically.
The chase began in the Glendale area and quickly ended in Chinatown, where the driver repeatedly made donuts at the intersection of East Caesar E. Chavez Avenue and Alameda Street.
The driver remained in the same areas of Chinatown, Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles.
For most of the chase, the driver was on shallow streets, but then took Highway 10 east and East Highway 60 before re-entering the streets.
During the chase, the driver turned on his hazard warning lights and blinked.
The driver picked up speed through narrow residential streets in Leimert Park, where officers tried a PIT maneuver.
The PIT maneuver failed and the driver continued to drag the bumper behind him.
CHP staff were able to find the driver’s home and contact their family.
Eventually, the driver returned to their home, where family and staff were already waiting for them.
