Boris Becker, the former Wimbledon champion, was sentenced to two and a half years for fraud with a bankruptcy of 2.5 million British pounds.
Becker, who arrived in court holding the hand of his partner Lillian de Carvalho Monteiro, wore a striped Wimbledon tie in purple and green.
He was convicted in Southwark court today after being convicted earlier this month under the Bankruptcy Act.
The former tennis star appeared on the dock with untied shoelaces provided by Puma, his sponsor. The dock door was open to allow Becker’s son Noah to hand him a bag of clothes in preparation for a possible prison sentence.
