Four died after an accident at CFB Kingston’s Point Frederick

An accident involving a vehicle entering the water near Point Frederick has killed four members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

The incident happened shortly after 2 am on Friday, April 29, 2022. The Kingston Fire and Rescue Service and Frontenac Paramedic Services were the first to respond to the scene, where attempts were made to resuscitate those who were in the vehicle after as the driver and passengers were rescued from the waterway. Shortly afterwards, the CFston Kingston military police arrived on the scene.

Kingston police were called to assist in the ongoing investigation approximately seven hours after the incident.

According to a note circulated to military personnel at the Canadian base (CFB) Kingston, where Point Frederick is located, four servicemen were killed in the crash. CFB Kingston is reducing traffic in the area while the investigation continues.

It is not known what caused the car to enter the water at the moment. This is an evolving story. More information will be provided when provided.
