A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping after a woman was reportedly hit by a vehicle on a busy Tamside road. On Thursday afternoon (April 28th), officers landed on Edge Lane in Droylsden, near the eastern Manchester border.
Manchester police say the woman is believed to have been taken to an Edge Lane vehicle. Police were called to the scene around 12:10 yesterday.
Since then, the woman has been found healthy and healthy after a search by police. Police have arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of kidnapping.

A GMP spokesman said: “Officers were called to report the abduction shortly after 12:10 a.m. yesterday (April 28, 2022), when it was reported that a woman had been lured into an Edge Lane vehicle in Droylsden. The woman was later found safe and sound.
“A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. He is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”

Officers closed Edge Lane for several hours while investigating the scene. A cordon was set up near the old Gardeners Arms pub, with traffic stopped as a number of police cars were parked near the Wheler Street junction.
The cordon was lifted 16 hours ago yesterday, but police remained in place after the road opened. Officers are continuing their investigation today, while the suspect is currently in police custody.
