In a one-page affidavit filed in court on Friday, Trump wrote: “As far as I know, (i) I do not have any of the documents requested in the December 1, 2021 subpoena in my personal possession; and (ii) if there are any documents corresponding to the subpoena, I believe they will be in the possession or custody of the Trump Organization. 2. At all relevant times, I have authorized and continue to authorize the release of all relevant documents to the Office of the Prosecutor General. “
Trump signed the document on April 27, a day after a judge issued a written order detaining him for civil disrespect and fining him $ 10,000 a day. The former president is appealing the order.
Trump’s lawyer also made an affidavit that she had checked the records and told a judge during the hearing that she had gone to Florida to talk to Trump himself.
