Investigative murders on the lake are looking for two men and a woman, while Essex police assure shoppers that the center is safe

A woman and two men are being chased by police investigating a murder at the Lakeside mall. Essex forces are stepping up their presence in the mall as they search for the trio.

Shortly before 4.30 pm yesterday, a 30-year-old man was attacked in the mall. He died of his injuries.

Essex police have launched an investigation into the murder and are asking people to come up with information to help them paint a picture of the moments before the tragic incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Ashley Howard said: “There is a special team of specialists and staff who are working hard to find and arrest those responsible. I still need someone who has seen what happened or has footage of it to come out.

“We are looking for three people who were in the group involved in the attack – two men and a woman. One was wearing ripped blue jeans, a white T-shirt, black sneakers, and a small bag.

“The other is described as wearing a blue suit and white sneakers. The woman is described as blonde and dressed entirely in black, with black leggings and white sneakers.

Police are stepping up their presence in the area in an attempt to encourage shoppers to return to the center. Thurrock Area Commander Terry Fisher reassured the public, saying “the lake shore is safe and the public should not be afraid to go there.”

He said: “I know that this incident will cause concern to anyone who goes to Lakeside to shop, eat and work, but it is safe and people should not be afraid to go there.

“We work hard with Lakeside’s management team to ensure your safety, including regular patrols in and around the mall. We continue to believe that this incident does not pose a risk to the general public and is directed against one person.

“Fortunately, such incidents are rare, but if you have any concerns, please talk to one of my staff at the center. You will continue to see higher than usual visible police presence as our investigations continue to calm down. “
