Four Canadian cadets have died after their car crashed into a military college Canada

Four Canadian military cadets have died after their car fell into the water on their Ontario campus.

The incident happened early Friday on the campus of the Royal Military College in Kingston, the Canadian Ministry of National Defense said.

The Canadian National Investigation Service is investigating the incident.

The college’s commodore, Jose Kurz, identified the cadet officers as Jack Hogarth, Andrei Honchiu, Broden Murphy and Andres Salek.

“Four fourth-year cadets at the Royal Military College of Canada traveling in the same vehicle lost their lives when their car entered the waters of the Point Frederick campus on Friday,” Kurz said Friday night. No further details were available.

He said the four students were completing their bachelor’s degrees. Hogarth and Salek were studying military and strategic research and would become officers in the army.

Investigators examined the road and coastline by boat and on foot on Friday. Late Friday afternoon, a vehicle carrying the cadets was pulled out of the water by authorities, CBC News reported.

“My heart breaks for the families and friends of the four cadet officers who lost their lives early this morning in Kingston,” tweeted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “The tragic death of these young Canadians is a devastating loss. To all who knew them: we are here for you. “
