IHIT identifies the victim of the shooting in Maple Ridge, wants public information

Homicide investigators identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Maple Ridge, British Columbia on Thursday as Maple Ridge Arthur Aaron Joseph Como.

Police were called to block 21300 on Carlton Street around 2pm PT on Thursday after numerous reports of gunfire, according to a statement.

Officers arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds. He died on the spot, despite the efforts of the ambulance.

The 41-year-old Como was known to police, but it is not yet known whether his murder was linked to a gang conflict in the Lower Continent, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

“We want to talk to Mr. Como’s friends and associates in an attempt to schedule his activities for the days leading up to his death,” Det said. cap. Sukhi Dhesi in a statement.

“We are deeply concerned when there is a shooting in our community and we understand that it is a traumatic experience for the people who witnessed this incident.

IHIT says it is still looking for witnesses, CCTV cameras and footage from the dashboard of Carlton Street and 124 Avenue, 216 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
