Wynonna and Ashley Judd take the Hall of Fame to country music in tears after the death of mom Naomi

Just a day after the death of legendary country singer Naomi Judd, her daughter and singing partner Winona Judd appeared in the Country Music Hall of Fame, accepting the introduction of the duo with her sister, actor Ashley Judd. Both brothers and sisters spoke through tears as they hugged each other, according to the Associated Press. “I’m sorry I couldn’t stand it until today,” Ashley said, and Winona added, “Even though my heart is broken, I’ll keep singing.” The sisters also recite Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd.” The news of Matriarch Judd’s death came on the eve of the Hall of Fame ceremony, which also included Ray Charles, Eddie Byers and Pete Drake. In a statement on Saturday confirming their mother’s death, the Judd sisters did not specify where or how 76-year-old Naomi died, saying only that she had succumbed to “mental illness.”
