A grieving sister paid tribute to her “loving” brother, who was found dead in Newham Park on April 25.
Gary Scarthe, 41, was found unconscious by a nurse on his way to work last Monday at 8 p.m. She started resuscitating him, while another walker noticed the two and immediately called 999. Gary was taken to hospital, but was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The father of five was a living man who “loved his music, loved his life, loved his children and loved his sisters.”

Sister Georgia Ferguson told ECHO: “We always laughed, he was a very happy and loving person. He would do anything for his family and friends.
“Gary was a big fan of Liverpool and when there were big games, we always had parties at my house. He was loved by so many people and they were all welcome to attend his funeral when we brought him home.
In honor of Gary’s life, Georgia decorated part of Newham Park with balloons, family photos, flowers and a Liverpool banner. In his honor, she also performed the words of the club anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Although Gary was not a heavy drinker and enjoyed beer only on special occasions, he was last seen “staggering as if drunk” from a dog walk, according to Georgia.
The former worker left his friend’s house on April 24 to meet with his son in the city center. At the time, Gary was carrying two JD bags, one black and the other yellow, a pocket full of petty cash and a cell phone.
But when the 41-year-old father was discovered, he had only cash. Gary also had cuts on his head and scars on his nose, according to his sister.

She said: “His phone can hold everything and we can’t find it. We can’t get video surveillance of the area. We have no idea what happened to him. “
After he died, Georgia posted a post on Facebook urging witnesses to come out. The status received dozens of comments, hundreds of likes and more than 1000 shares.
Through social media, the 32-year-old man was able to track the nurse who performed CPR on Gary. Coincidentally, she was Gary’s neighbor as a child.
An autopsy will be done in two weeks.
Georgia said: “If anyone has seen him from 10 pm on Sunday, April 24, until 6 am on Monday, April 25, please contact us. As family and friends, we know nothing about this. “
