Winnipeg Police: Charged with Driving with Disabilities after Fatal Collision and Running

A man from Winnipeg is facing charges of impaired driving after a woman was killed in a collision and running in Transcona over the weekend.

Winnipeg police say a 24-year-old woman was killed in a crash of two vehicles on Bond Street and Kildare Avenue West around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Police said the woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of her injuries.

A monument to the woman was erected at the intersection on Monday. Flowers and stuffed animals surrounded a tree near the site of the fatal crash.

Police said the people in the other car had left the crash site.

Police on Monday charged 28-year-old Tyler Scott Goodman of Winnipeg with dangerously acting a vehicle causing death, driving a vehicle causing death while being damaged to any degree by BAC or a drug or a combination of both. and did not stop at the scene of the accident that caused the death.

The charges have not been proven in court.
