The WHO says at least 228 possible cases of childhood hepatitis have been reported, with more being investigated.

World Health Organization spokesman Tariq Jasarevic said on Tuesday that at least 228 possible cases of childhood hepatitis from 20 countries had been reported by May 1st. He also said more than 50 additional cases are under investigation. Health officials are investigating an increase in severe cases of hepatitis – inflammation of the liver – in young children, which has led to at least one death.
