Red Dress Day attracts attention in the House of Assembly

The topic of Red Dresses Day attracted some attention in the House of Commons on Thursday afternoon.

May 5 is set aside to commemorate and honor the missing and murdered indigenous women and girls across the country and to draw attention to the problem.

Opposition leader David Brazil questioned Prime Minister Andrew Fury on the House’s Red Dress Day.

Brazil asked Fury what the government was doing to end violence against local women and girls in the province. Fury responded by saying that the government recognizes the importance of doing everything possible to prevent violence against women, noting that this is a common topic in their weekly talks with locals.
