BC Hydro is now calculating that the power outage in Winfield can be restored by 11:30 a.m.

Many Lake Country residents woke up to no electricity on Friday morning.

From about 1:30 a.m., power was cut off in a wide area of ​​Winfield and Okanagan Center

BC Hydro’s website says the outage affected 1,517 customers in an area north of Chase Road, around Highway 97 and east of Camp Road.

The interruption was caused by a fire, the details of which are currently unknown.

Hydro says crews are working on the problem and power is expected to be restored by 3 p.m.
