Microsoft is over, waiting for you to come to Xbox. Instead, the company is preparing to bring the Xbox wherever you are. This is part of the Xbox Everywhere initiative, which was expanded yesterday by adding Fortnite to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Although you can now stream games from the cloud to your phone and computer, Microsoft also plans to expand TV access to your family room.

Microsoft plans to launch an Xbox cloud streaming device in the next 12 months. This will probably look like an Amazon First Stick or maybe a small Roku-like washer. And like Roku, the Xbox streaming device will allow you to access movie and TV services in addition to a game library through the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

However, if you already have a Samsung smart TV, you may be able to skip a completely separate device. Microsoft is working closely with its Samsung partners to develop an Xbox game streaming application for the company’s TVs. This should also debut within the next 12 months.

This move by Microsoft is hardly surprising. The company has repeatedly noted that it doesn’t really care how you enter the Xbox ecosystem. But even though he said that, he simultaneously poured huge resources into his special Xbox consoles. It was kind of like a discount that gaming hardware is still the best way to reach potential Game Pass subscribers.

But with games like Fortnite and Halo Infinite, Microsoft may appeal to an audience that is willing to try free games but doesn’t want to invest in expensive consoles.
