The Liberal Democrats retained control of Cheltenham in the 2022 local elections.
A total of 21 seats out of the 40 that make up Cheltenham’s municipal council were contested in the by-elections. Local authorities usually hold elections every two years, and residents can vote for one of the two seats in each district.
The Liberal Democrat group currently has a total majority of 19 before the election. And the party retained control of Cheltenham.
