Ontario Liberals say they will add COVID-19 vaccination to their school immunization schedule if elected.
Liberal leader Stephen Del Duca says the best way to get back to normal is to make classrooms safer.
He says he will add COVID-19 to the list of nine other vaccines on the school list and will require all front-line teachers to be immunized.
But Del Duca says the current exceptions will continue to apply.
Parents can exempt their children from school vaccination requirements through a declaration of medical exemption, or because of conscience or religious beliefs.
About 35% of children aged 5-11 years received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while 93% of teenagers aged 12-17 years received two doses.
