Fire crews were called in a large fire at a recycling depot near Conestoga Parkway in Kitchener on Sunday.
Officials told CTV News that the crews responded to the Riverbend Drive fire around 2pm and struggled to keep the flames under control.
The crews used a high ladder to spread the flames from above and cleared the scrap metal from the area with the help of construction equipment.
Kitchener Fire told CTV News that the fire was caused by burning garbage and no one was injured.
The approximate cost of the damage has not yet been announced.
