A Pennsylvania mother accused of shooting her two young sons in the head while sleeping has been planning the killings for more than a week, authorities said.
Trin Nguyen, 38, who is in jail after the May 2 shooting in Newtown that killed 9-year-old Nelson Tini and 13-year-old Jeffrey Tini, was charged with first-degree murder on Monday after her sons died in Friday, Bucks County That’s what District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said.

One of Nguyen’s neighbors, who is also a nephew of her ex-husband Gianni Melciondo, told cops that the crazy mother had given him a box of photos asking him to give it to her ex-husband.
Nguyen then aimed his pistol at Melchiondo’s face as he turned and pulled the trigger twice, but the weapon did not fire, according to the complaint.
Melchiondo pulled the gun out of Nguyen and found multiple bullets in the weapon, authorities said. She drove off in a Toyota minivan and was arrested hours later at a nearby Washington intersection, Weintraub said.

Nguyen later claimed during her indictment that she went to New Jersey to pick up drugs she had taken in a failed suicide attempt, according to the complaint.
Detectives also found a loaded .38-caliber pistol in Nguyen’s minivan, as well as alleged heroin packages, blood swabs and a note on the dashboard, authorities said.
“Please call 911!” The note read, according to the complaint. “My children are dead in their bed.”

Nguyen was married to Ed Tini until last spring when she filed for divorce, according to civil court records cited by the Inquirer. Tini is the father of Nguyen’s younger son, newspaper sources said.
Nguyen, who was denied bail, must appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 23, online records show. A statement left at the office of the Bucks County Public Defender, who represents her, was not returned immediately on Tuesday.
