Samsung’s expected flagship folder for 2022 – Galaxy Z Fold 4 – may have leaked in unofficial renderings published by SmartPrix, based on information from the often reliable Onleaks. The renderings of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 show a similar overall design to its predecessor, the Z Fold 3, with a 6.2-inch lid and 7.6-inch folding internal display, but with a redesigned rear camera configuration inspired by this year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra.
It is reported that this internal display will again have a selfie camera under the display, a feature that disappointed us on last year’s device. This year’s version is reported to have much-needed performance improvements. There are three rear cameras on the back, the same as last year, but SmartPrix does not offer any details on what their specifications might be.
There are no signs of a built-in slot for the S-Pen stylus, which The Elec previously announced will be available in this year’s folding edition. Z Fold 3 offers support for the S-Pen, but there was no built-in storage slot – instead, customers had to buy a phone case to store it. The Elec report also claims that the screen size of the Z Fold 4 will be slightly different from last year, with the internal screen being an inch larger and the external display being an inch smaller.
There is no official information on when we may see the announced Z Fold 4, but SmartPrix reports that we may see a release in August or September. For reference, last year’s Z Fold 3 was launched in early August.
