A couple called murder

Arnold and Joan De Jong were found dead at a home in Abbotsford on May 9, 2022.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) identified the couple found dead at a home in Abbotsford earlier this week.
They were 77-year-old Arnold De Jong and 76-year-old Joan De Jong.
At around 10:26 a.m. Monday, May 9, the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to the residence of block 33600 of the Arcadian Way and found the two dead inside. IHIT has been called in to investigate.
The deaths are being treated as suspicious, and IHIT is looking for witnesses and video surveillance videos to help with the investigation.
At this point, it is uncertain whether the couple was killed in a random attack or a deliberate accident.
Murder investigators are still gathering evidence, questioning witnesses and building a timeline.
IHIT works with the Abbotsford Police Department and the BC Coronation Office.
“The safety of citizens in Abbotsford and the community as a whole is a top priority. Every available resource is used, “said Officer Paul Walker of AbbyPD.
“We share information with AbbyPD and follow many clues,” said Sergeant David Lee of IHIT. “We ask anyone with information about Arnold and Joan to call IHIT.” There (sic) information may be key. “
