Temperatures are expected to rise over the weekend and next week, but this could lead to thunderstorms and flash floods. The Met Office’s forecast for the weekend shows that it is difficult to predict where the torrential rain will hit, but it is likely to be in the south and west of Wales and England.
It comes after the initial hopes for 23 ° C. heat that will start this weekend and will continue next week. On Saturday, May 14, the mercury will reach 20 degrees Celsius with good and dry weather for everyone – but the front coming from France means that everything can change on Sunday night.
The Met Office’s forecast for Wales says the outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: “It’s going to be cloudy in the coming days, with the risk of rain at times. However, I feel warm every brighter period when the cloud breaks.

The high pressure is rising to bring a good day for most of the UK on Saturday. Met Office forecaster Alex Deakin said: “Things are warming up for the weekend, but there may be thunderstorms due to a front rising from France, bringing warm and humid air, but also an increased risk of thunderstorms.
“They are likely to cause strong, thunderstorms that will drift north on Saturday night and will still be in parts of Wales and England on Sunday, so the weather will be quite an interesting weekend.

He said it was difficult to predict where the thunderstorms would hit because the front would change as it headed through the Channel Islands to the United Kingdom.
Alex said: “It is unlikely to rain all day on Sunday over England and Wales, but there is a chance of rain, with the risk of strong thunder.
“There will still be cloud ruptures between the rains, and where there is sunshine, temperatures could rise until the mid-20s.

BBC Wales weatherwoman Sabrina Lee said on Friday (May 13th): “Today will be a very good day for the vast majority. The winds will be quite lively, coming from the west with local gusts of 45 miles per hour in more open areas.
“Temperatures will be slightly higher than Thursday, up to a maximum of 18 ° C. It should be warm on the weekends where there is afternoon sun, but there is always a risk of some thunder, especially from Saturday night to Sunday. “
Met Office’s long-term forecast for the rest of May shows that temperatures will be “warm or very warm”, but will be variable with periods of unstable weather.
