A missing man, whose vehicle was found abandoned in a field full of water in southern Manitoba, has been found dead.
The RCMP confirmed that Search and Rescue found 72-year-old Leo Sir dead on Friday afternoon. The RCMP said his death did not look suspicious.
Sir, who was from Giroux, Man., Was last seen driving his car on Highway 59 near Dunning Road East on Thursday around 8 p.m.
“The family visited his residence last night to check on him, but he was not at home and his car disappeared,” the RCMP said in a press release.
At around 7:25 a.m. Friday, the RCMP received a signal that a vehicle was stuck in a field full of water near Highway 75 between St. Adolf and St. Agatha. Respondents confirmed that the vehicle, which was found abandoned, belonged to Sir.
The Manitoba RCMP continues to investigate the death.
