The province has declared a local state of emergency in eastern Manitoba, according to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Parks.
Rapidly rising water levels have caused deterioration and dangerous conditions in Weitschel Provincial Park, as well as a significant threat to public safety, the statement said.
People have been warned not to enter the park area. Many highways are flooded, making travel conditions insidious, the statement added.
Manitoba Parks has ordered the evacuation of the Lake Betula area of Whiteshell Provincial Park, including all villas, shopping areas, group use, living areas, recreation and picnic areas, playgrounds, trails and beaches.
Residents in areas near Lake Betula are advised to be prepared for evacuation due to rapidly rising water levels.

Provincial park officials are working closely with the Manitoba Conservation Service and the Manitoba Transport and Infrastructure Service, including the Organization for Emergency Measures, to ensure public safety, the statement said.
Manitobans traveling to other provincial parks should carefully check and monitor conditions before visiting.
Visitors to the park are reminded to observe closed roads and paths and not to try to drive through flooded areas or damaged bridges.
All park visitors can check the Manitoba 511 for closed roads and potential detours before traveling to the parks.
All previously announced closures and recommendations remain in force. They can be viewed on the Manitoba Parks website.
