The Torquay accident left the seriously injured

Police have confirmed that someone was seriously injured after a key road in Torquay was closed after a car-motorcycle accident. The collision on Westhill Road, Torquay, was first reported to police around 11.40pm yesterday (May 20th).

Since then, much of the street has been cordoned off by police, who have urged people to avoid the area. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police said someone was believed to have been “seriously” injured in the crash.

They told DevonLive: “Traffic police officers are at the scene of the accident, it is believed that this is a serious road collision with injuries involving a car and a motorcycle. The area is secluded and we urge the public to avoid the area and look for alternative routes. I do not have time as to when this cordon will be lifted. “
