The RCMP is asking for public help to help identify two people of interest in a May 11 shooting on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway between Deedsbury and Olds.

Mountis says the accident happened around 7pm that evening when two cars headed north on the highway approaching the Olds. The suspect vehicle, described by police as a dark two-door sports car, accelerated to overtake the other car, then pulled into the left lane.

“While the vehicles were side by side, firearms were aimed at the victim from the suspect’s vehicle, and multiple rounds of ammunition were fired at the victim’s car,” RCMP said in a press release.

Police are looking for two people for the shooting. They describe one as a white man in his mid-to-late 20s with a short black beard wearing a baseball cap and the other as a woman with dark hair.

The Olds RCMP is asking anyone who has been to the area and may have information that would help the investigation to contact the 403-556-3323 squad. Mounties also require a dashboard camera recording from anyone traveling on QEII between Deedsbury and Olds on May 11 between 6pm and 8pm
