“Shocking and violent act”
Chief Inspector Mike Buck said: “This is a shocking and violent act that took place on residential streets in Brislington and a full police investigation will now be carried out to identify all those responsible.
“We know this will be of great concern to people living in the area and we would like to reassure the public, although we are at an early stage of the investigation, we are currently treating this as an incident involving people known to everyone else. We do not believe that there is a constant risk to the general public.
“A man has tragically lost his life and we will give priority to informing his loved ones and giving them the care and support they need at this desperately sad moment.
