Johnny Depp appears in Sheffield at a Jeff Beck concert before the defamation conviction Music

Johnny Depp surprisingly appeared on stage with rock guitarist Jeff Beck in Sheffield on Sunday night.

Singing and playing guitar, Depp performed covers of Jimi Hendrix’s Little Wing and Marvin Gay’s What’s Going On, plus John Lennon’s Isolation, in which he and Beck recorded a studio version in 2020.

The execution comes amid his high-profile lawsuit in the United States against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, filed by Depp, who accused Hurd of defamation after she published an article in the Washington Post mentioning her as a victim of domestic violence. Hurd has filed a counterclaim.

For seven weeks, the jury will hear allegations of abuse from both sides to the other and will discuss the verdict after a retrial on May 31.

Depp has long been involved in rock music, including his supergroup Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. In 2015, they recorded with Paul McCartney, and Depp appeared in the video for McCartney’s song My Valentine, also playing guitar. Footage from this show, part of McCartney’s 2013 live set, was screened during McCartney’s US tour amid the trial of Depp, although McCartney did not comment on the case.

At the release of their version of Isolation in 2020, Beck said, “Johnny and I have been working on music together for a while and we recorded this song during our studio last year – you’ll hear more from Johnny and me in a little while.” more editions after Isolation, however.
