Police say a 23-year-old man has died from his injuries. The second victim, a 26-year-old man, was identified as critical at a district hospital.
“We are very happy, given the amount of ammunition fired, that more people were not hit by the shooting,” said the Philadelphia inspector DF Pace.
Police say the victims were shot dead by several armed men.
“Four open pistols. It is unusual that we were able to find four pistols from this incident. At least two of them have extended fillers, high-capacity fillers, “added Pace.
One suspect has been detained, but police say other suspects are being sought. Anyone with information is invited to call the police at 215-686-TIPS.
Less than two weeks ago, five people were injured after about 20 shots were fired down the block. People in the city are scared and disappointed.
“Honestly, it’s out of control. It feels like the Wild West here,” said one resident.
The crime also affects Temple University students.
“It’s scary. It’s scary to be honest. We’re just trying to go to school and get an education, and that’s something we have to worry about all year long,” said student Bay Wilson.
Philadelphia Remembrance Day weekend was violent. A total of 36 people have been shot since Friday, police said.
