The Toronto Maritime Police Department thanked the public for their help in finding their “favorite” Porter cat.

The dark-colored cat was last seen on Sunday, May 29, at 3 a.m., heading north along Rees Street.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Toronto police tweeted that the kitten had been found. The family reportedly considered Porter a stay and brought him home, they tweeted.

Porter is home!

A family took him home, thinking he was a tramp. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share, the family found that he was less homeless and freer.

Thank you all and thank you to the family for bringing our family back to @ TPSMarineUnit. # PorterFelineUnit. ^ vk

Porter, who “roams the area and is a chip”, was rescued from the sea six years ago.

Our favorite cat Porter, rescued by the Marines 6 years ago, is missing. He roams the area freely and is a chip.
