A student was shot dead in front of Grant High School in Valley Glen

Los Angeles police responded to a shooting at Ulysses S. Grant High School in Valley Glen, located at 13,000 Oxnard St.

Both Los Angeles School Police and Los Angeles Police Department officials responded to the scene and believe the incident may be gang-related.

According to police, a student was shot in the Oxnard St. and Coldwater Canyon, in front of the school, and was transported to Cedars Sinai in stable condition.

Authorities also said the shots may have come from a vehicle and that parts were looking for a green Honda Accord.

Police cordoned off the streets in the area while investigating the incident and the school was locked indefinitely.

Students were allowed to leave campus around 4:15 p.m.
