Animal rights activists linked to Extinction Rebellion have been arrested after interrupting platinum anniversary celebrations by raiding the mall during a color parade.
Scotland Yard said officers made several arrests after protesters jumped over barriers surrounding the mall and confronted marching grenadier guards with leaflets demanding an end to hunting in royal lands.
Animal Rebellion said 25 of its supporters had violated the parade due to “the crown’s inaction on the climate emergency and their continued support for meat, fisheries and dairy products.”
In a tweet showing the protest, Animal Rebellion said: “Animal rebels are disrupting the Queen’s platinum anniversary celebrations by demanding that the royal land be restored. This summer we are taking bigger action against the dairy industry than ever before and we need you! ”

Sofia police said the arrests were linked to public order, to obstruct the highway. The force wrote on Twitter: “Thanks to the crowd who showed their support by applauding our employees who returned to their posts after dealing with the incident quickly.
Last year, Animal Rebellion painted red the fountain in front of Buckingham Palace, accusing the Queen of having “blood on her hands.” The group is campaigning against the use of crown lands for hunting and animal husbandry, as well as the Queen’s attempts to free her land from a carbon reduction initiative.
Bo King Houston, one of the entrepreneurs, said: “The royal family has had decades to pave the way for a fair transition to crop production and has failed to do so. This transition is common sense and simple, we all win. “
A spokesman for the group, Robert Gordon, said: “These anniversary celebrations will cost taxpayers tens if not hundreds of millions of pounds. As we struggle through the cost of living crisis, families across the country are increasingly relying on food banks. ”
Police and the Royal Parks urged people to avoid the area around Buckingham Palace, as the viewing space was full.
Royal Parks tweeted: “Crowds flocked to St. James’s Park to enjoy the color and public viewing areas are now at full capacity. Please do not head to St. James’s Park, but enjoy the anniversary celebrations elsewhere. ”
The Metropolitan Police Events profile tweeted: “The viewing areas in central London for the Queen’s platinum anniversary celebrations are already full. To avoid the disappointment of not being able to enter the surveillance zones, please avoid the zone. “
