Horizon, Resident Evil Village and others come in PlayStation VR2

The latest demonstration from Sony State of Play gave a glimpse of which games will support the launch of the PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2). Neither the price nor the release date of the headphones has been shared yet, but at least we know what games we can expect. For what it’s worth, Sony is committed to releasing the headset with 20 “basic” games, so there is still some work to be done to fill the gaps. Below we have reviewed the main highlights, including trailers.

Guerilla Games has revealed some battles and transition games for its upcoming exclusive PSVR2 game, Horizon Call of the Mountain. Like the console game, there seems to be a hell of a lot of climbing, and the visuals look stunning. I’m most intrigued by the satisfying-looking bow fight, and I’m curious how the game manages tough VR controls in the midst of action against these mechanized creatures.

Capcom provides a patch for Resident Evil Village that allows VR support for PSVR2 headphones. Like the Resident Evil 7, Sony headphones have an exclusive VR experience for Capcom’s first-person horror adventure. Capcom did not share an exact release date for VR content, but it seems like a good time. We saw the main character Ethan being able to transfer weapons between his hands like a shooter, which is all I want to do when playing a VR game in the first person.

Capcom opened this demonstration of the state of the game with the first-ever footage from the Resident Evil 4 remake. While the main game seems to be a third-person adventure (like the original), Sony has announced that PSVR2 content is being developed. What is unclear, however, is whether this will turn the game into a first-person shooter, such as the VR adaptation that appeared in Meta Quest 2 in 2021. If this is the case, at least it will probably be much higher resolution. and an immersive experience.

Hello Games will bring VR to No Man’s Sky, its frequently updated space exploration game. There is already a VR version that PSVR and PC owners can enjoy, and this will probably be an adaptation of existing systems. However, I don’t know for sure, just seeing what limited footage was shown.

No range of virtual reality headphones can be complete without a game full of zombies. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners: Retribution is coming to PSVR2 in 2022. If you’re someone who likes open world shooters with easy inventory management and demand for consumables, this might be worth checking out.
