Flanari told ABC News that before the shooting, the teacher came out of the door to get food from a colleague outside, where she saw the shooter crash into a gray Ford pickup truck, then get out of the vehicle and head to school armed with a gun.
“She sees him throwing a bag over the fence and he holds the gun, the gun, around his chest,” Flanari said. “He jumps over the fence and starts running towards it.”
Flanari said the teacher then “immediately turned around and she ran inside, kicked the stone, slammed the door.”
Back at school, Flanari said, she heard gunshots.

At a news conference after the shooting, Stephen McCrow, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the teacher left the door open before the shooter entered the school.
“The teacher runs to room 132 to pick up the phone, and the same teacher goes back to the front door and the door stays open,” McCrow told a news conference last Friday.
But only days later, the request was canceled. Texas Public Safety spokeswoman Erica Miller confirmed to ABC News that investigators found that the teacher had closed the door but the door was not locked.
Law enforcement is investigating why the door did not lock, the MRF confirmed to ABC News.
Meanwhile, the teacher’s lawyer told ABC News that his office was petitioning for information about Daniel Defense, the company that produced the assault weapon used in the attack.
“We can’t bring the children back, but we can find out who is responsible. We need to find responsible people who put the weapon in his hands, “he said.
