The best royal dresses from the Queen’s platinum jubilee weekend

After months of planning and anticipation, the Queen’s platinum jubilee weekend is finally upon us.

On Thursday, members of the royal family attended the official monarch’s birthday parade, Trooping the Color, at Buckingham Palace.

This included performances by the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who were seen riding in a carriage during the procession.

They later joined their parents, the Queen and other members of the Royal Family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Armed Forces Spring.

Also Thursday, the public saw the long-awaited Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are in the UK with their children Archie and Lilibet, to celebrate the Queen’s historic 70-year rule.

The monarch, who has been experiencing mobility problems recently, did not attend the Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement that she had suffered “some discomfort” during Thursday’s events.

Instead, the heir, the Prince of Wales, represents his mother in the service. He was joined by other senior members of the royal family, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Royal Princess.

Prince Harry and Megan Markle were also present, marking their first public appearance in the UK since retiring as senior family members in 2020.

While the festivities were in honor of the Queen’s service in the United Kingdom, members of the royal family took the opportunity to show off their mastery.

Megan won high marks for her “understated” appearance on Friday, arriving in St Paul in an elegant coat with a Dior belt. Meanwhile, Kate drew attention on Thursday in a fresh white dress with a Alexander McQueen blazer.

Here are our favorite visions from the platinum anniversary weekend.

At the time, three-year-old William wore similar navy clothing in 1985, during the Queen’s 59th birthday celebrations.
