NBA Finals 2 Game: No Cause to Panic for Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics

The Warriors, playing in their sixth final in eight seasons, seemed on track to win Game 1 on Thursday, but a huge comeback in the fourth quarter showed the Celtics leading the way in the top of the series with 120-108.

“First to four, not first to one,” said Warriors’ Clay Thompson after the game.

“And we’ve all been through situations like this. There’s no need to panic. I still like our chances and we’ll go home and absorb what happened. I know we’ll be better than Game 2.”

Boston already has a chance to take the lead in the series during Sunday’s game, which starts at 20:00 ET at Chase Center. The teams then compete in consecutive games in Boston.

The surprise victory in Match 1, the Celtics’ first appearance in the 2010 NBA Finals, included a 17-0 series in the fourth quarter – the second-highest score in the final quarter of a final game in 50 seasons, according to ESPN.

Al Horford led the Celtics with 26 points, while Jaylan Brown added 24.

“It wasn’t our best game, but we kept fighting and finding different ways to win that victory,” said Horford, who played in 141 playoffs before making his final debut on Thursday.

For the Warriors, the positive news is that they have not lost another game this postseason in their quest to win a fourth league with head coach Steve Kerr.

“It’s a series of seven games for some reason,” Kerr told reporters after Thursday’s game. “You pay tribute to Boston, they went in there and won, they played a great fourth quarter.

“We’ll go in and watch the movie … and see where we can get better. It’s one game, you’re moving on to the next … We’ve been in this position before and we’ve won a series in which we lost the first game. ”

In the US, the finals are available for viewing on ABC or ESPN3. Alternatively, you can watch NBA League Pass matches live in the United States and around the world.
