One wounded man is still searching for a hospital shooter in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, NC (WITN) – One man was injured in a shooting at a hospital in East Carolina on Sunday night.

Wayne County Public Information Officer Joel Gili said one man received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to Wayne UNC’s health.

Gilly said the shooting was domestic and that the shooter had left the scene.

The search for the shooter continues and law enforcement said the person’s identity is known.

The blockade of the hospital was lifted at 9:10 p.m.

Law enforcement has responded to a situation with an active shooter at a hospital in East Carolina.

Wayne County Public Information Officer Joel Gilly said the dispatch received a call at 8:17 a.m. in connection with an active shooter at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Gilly said Goldsboro police and Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies are on the scene right now.

The hospital, formerly known as Wayne Memorial Hospital, is currently blocked.

Gillie had no information about injuries.
