A man drowned, a daughter was rescued in the Rockwood Conservation Area

Police say a father and daughter from Mississauga were pulled out of the water by bystanders after their inflatable boat capsized

PROVINCIAL ONTARIO POLICE PRESS RELEASE ***************************** On June 4, around 6:20 p.m., Wellington County Police , Ontario (OPP) responded to a report of possible drowning at the Grand River Conservation Authority in Rockwood. A 33-year-old man and a 7-year-old woman, a father and daughter from Mississauga, were reportedly pulled out of the water by passersby after the inflatable boat they were on capsized.

The OPP, the Guelph / Eramosa Fire Service and the Guelph-Wellington Medical Service responded. The 33-year-old was transported to a local hospital and was found dead. A 7-year-old child was treated on the spot.
